Cultural Program

During their stay in the region, the participants have a number of opportunities to explore Warsaw, travel in Poland and visit other capitals of Central Europe.
The organizers actively assist students in filling their leisure time with various social and cultural events. Below is a tentative list of activities planned for the summer internship program. In Fall or Winter and Spring semesters students join cultural events that are organized by Civitas as part of its acadmic calendar.
Offered by the organizers and included in the program fee:
- Visit to the Wilanow Palace, a summer residence of the King of Poland, Jan III Sobieski.
- Visits to museum: National Museum, Warsaw History Museum, Warsaw Raising Museum, or National Gallery.
- Day trip to Krakow, the seat of kings and former national capital of Poland. View here to learn more about Krakow and its attractions.
To be confirmed:
- Attending a cultural event: musical or performance in the National Opera or a concert in the National Philharmonic.

Field-trip options (not included in the program fee):

Day trip to the world's largest brick gothic castle in Europe of the Teutonic Order in Malbork. This trip is optional with additional cost that should not exceed $150 per person.*
- Two-day trip to Gdansk (weekend): This is trip is optional with additional cost that should not exceed $300 per person.* To learn more about Gdansk and its attractions, visit: http://www.gdansk-life.com/
- Day trip to one of the historical cities: Lublin, Zamosc or Torun. This is optional and students are responsible for all costs associated with this trip.
- Visits to the nearby countries and their capitals: Prague in the Czech Republic, Bratislava in Slovakia,
Vienna in Austria, Budapest in Hungary, Berlin in Germany, Vilnus in Lithuania, Kiev in Ukraine, etc.
Organizers encourage students to explore the Central European region and assist them with information
about travel arrangements, including inexpensive airlines and accommodation. Students are responsible
for all costs associated with these travels.
* The estimted costs will vary depending on the current exchange rate of the Polish Zloty (PLN) and the US Dollar.
