Summer Internships

May 15 – July 31

Application for the 2013  Summer Internships is now open.  Starting dates for the 2013 summer internship program are May 13, June 3 or June 17 (Mondays). The summer program will run until August 2, 2013.

Interested students can choose among summer internship programs of four different durations: 10, 8, 6 and 4 weeks in duration.

Internships usually end on July 31 unless internship organization and student agree on a longer duration.

While interning at the organization of their choice, students can participate in a 4-week internship seminar and take a Polish language course at Collegium Civitas and earn the equivalent of 3 American credits in total. In addition, students can also enroll at a credited academic course and earn the equivalent of 2 American credits.

Main cultural and organizational features:

  • Cultural program (starts at the beginning of June);
  • Basic medical insurance coverage in Poland for the duration of the program;
  • Monthly public transportation passes in Warsaw;
  • Airport/train station pick up upon arrival in Warsaw;
  • Welcome package and a cell phone for the duration of the student’s stay;
  • Welcome/farewell dinners (if a participant starts the program on June 1).

Internships

25-35 hours of internships per week for 4, 6, 8, or 10 weeks (beginning in 2013 on May 13, June 3 or June 17) yielding international professional networking and experience. Internships are generally in English and students choose their internships from a very diverse field of specializations and types of organizations that include public and private, international and domestic, non-for-profit and profit institutions specializing in:

Summer academic course

While undertaking their internship work students can also enroll at a credited summer academic course (4 ECTS = 2 American credits) offered at Collegium Civitas located in the very heart of Warsaw: the Palace of Culture and Science.

Official Transcript or Certificate of Completion

After a completion of credited academic seminars Collegium Civitas will issue an official transcript for each student that will include information about an internship organization, seminars taken, hours, ECTS credits and grades. The students who select non-credit internship programs (without credited seminars) will receive Collegium Civitas certificate of completion that will include information about an internship organization and length/dates of internship.

Polish language class
Interested students can participate in the credited Polish language class during the program. The class meets at Collegium Civitas located in the very heart of Warsaw: the Palace of Culture and Science.
