Art Gallery "Zacheta"
Art Gallery "Zacheta" is the major art gallery in Poland, promoting contemporary and the 20th century art. An important icon on the nation’s social and cultural life, Zach?ta seeks to develop art at home and to promote it abroad. It is the MOMA of Poland. The gallery’s schedule is packed with symposia, workshops, concerts, lectures, films and other events throughout the year and especially in the summer. It is a great place for a multi-tasking social butterfly.

Bec Zmiana Foundation
Bec Zmiana Foundation presents the most contemporary Polish art, culture, design and architecture, creating an ‘energy tunnel’ connecting artists and the public. The foundation publishes a magazine, organizes competitions and promotes art events across the country. It is a perfect place for art aficionados and art majors who enjoy working with artists.

Appendix2
Appendix2 is a leading art gallery in Warsaw Poland. It assists in organizing and promoting solo or group exhibits of leading Polish and international artists. The place is huge, the curators are experienced professionals with a rich network of artists, and the location could not be more bohemian.

Cinema LAB and Center for Contemporary Art

Cinema LAB is is an integral part of the Center of Contemporary Art. Its main goal is to present worldwide achievements in the art of cinema, emphasizing productions that are independent and of artistic and intellectual value. The summer is the time for short film and video presentations, moving picture exhibits, meetings with filmmakers and critics, academic conferences on the art of filmmaking, open air movie nights as well as a summer art film festival that includes productions by Coen borthers, Takeshi Kitano, Jim Jarmush, and famous polish directors. Interns become part of the Cinema's young, dynamic team and learn how to organize such events, promote them and turn them into a success.

Warsaw Rising Museum
Warsaw Rising Museum is a true 21st century museum where technology, art, media, politics (old and new) and history meet. One of the most spoken off museums in Poland, it became an instant landmark the day it opened in 2004. Its internship is designed for a person with people skils and a strong interest in history and public events.

Adam Mickiewicz Institute
Adam Mickiewicz Institute is a thriving literary institute that organizes lectures and classes for adults and youths, thematic exhibits, concerts, reading events that promote historical and contemporary achievements of the Polish culture. It also creates and collects various kinds of information and promotional materials (multilingual publications, illustrations, recordings, films, literary programmes, exhibition projects, etc.), and organizes study visits for foreign guests of the Adam Mickiewicz Institute, the Ministry of Culture, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Internship at the Institute is particularly suited for students interested in the Polish literature and culture.

Jagiellonian Institute

Jagiellonian Institute aims at improving public life and public egagement in Poland and Europe by promoting civic responsibility, social justice, historical truth, development of strategic thinking, and expanding knowledge in the field of socio-economic studies.

Local Activity Support Center

Local Activity Support Center creates and coordinates network of people and institutions that promote local development and activism. The Center supports the notion of people's self organization and mutual-aid in order to activise local communities. Projects persued by the Center aim at building local, regional and national communities, enhancing people's solidarity and local integration and empowering people by coaching them how they can help themselves and become engaged in solving real problems in the communities and neighborhoods they live in.

Foundation in Support of Local Democracy
Foundation in Support of Local Democracy (FSLD) is one of the largest non-governmental, independent and non-profit organizations established as an education foundation to strenghten decentralization reforms in Poland in the 1990s. FSLD's mission is to promote the idea of civiernance as the fundamental form of democracy. The FSLD is the key institution that supports local democracy and governance by organizing trainings, seminars, workshops and conferences for NGOs' representatives and local government officials and civil servants.

Office of the Mayor of the City of Warsaw

The Warsaw Mayor and its office manage the Warsaw City Hall and current affairs of the city. The Mayor executes the budget, manages the property of the City, represents the City outside, and executes tasks assigned by the Warsaw City Council, which is legislative and decision-making body.

"Never Again" Association

"Never Again" Association promotes multicultural understanding and contributes to the development of a democratic civicl society in Poland. 'NEVER AGAIN' is particularly concerned with the education against racial and ethnic prejudices among young people. The Association's goals, among others, include: breaking the silence and raising awareness about the problem of racism and xenophobia in contemporary Poland, building a broad and inclusive movement against racism and discrimination and eradicating or marginalizing racist, xenophobic and antisemitic behavior in various spheres of life.

Polish-American Freedom Foundation
Polish-American Freedom Foundation, established by the Polish-American Enterprise Fund, supports the development of civil society, democracy and market economy. The Foundation has been responsible for several important and highly successful programs in education and in civic development of local communities. The Foundation builds programs for smaller NGOs and supports their activities countrywide and in Russia and Ukraine.


Academy for Development of Philanthropy in Poland

Academy for Development of Philanthropy aims at development of NGOs, volunteer and charitable institutions in Poland. The Academy 'inspires and helps to act' and allows a group of talented people to lead and support local philanthropic activities across the country. The Foundation's initiatives include, among others, building activities for senior citizens (50+programs), promoting corporate social responsibility and social entrepreneurship.


Rural Development Foundation
Rural Development Foundation

supports economic, social, cultural, educational, pro-environmental projects and initiatives associated with the improvement of the technical infrastructure of rural areas in Poland. Some of the initiatives include: micro loans for small businesses, small business consulting, development of agrotourism, strengthening local democracy and civic activities.

Jagiellonian Institute

Jagiellonian Institute aims at improving public life and public engagement in Poland and Europe by promoting civic responsibility, social justice, historical truth, development of strategic thinking, and expanding knowledge in the field of socio-economic studies.

Constitutional Tribunal
Polish Constitutional Tribunal reviews new legislations, adjudicates disputes of authority between central State bodies, decides on the conformity with the Constitution. The Office of the Tribunal is responsible for all administrative aspects the Tribunal activities, as well as relevant research, seminars, discussions, etc. The internships are offered within and supervised by the department of Jurisprudence and Studies in the Office of the Constitutional Tribunal. This department is responsible for studying the Tribunal's jurisprudence, preparing information about the problems emerging from the Tribunal's jurisdiction and conducting analytical research. Office of the Polish Sejm (Lower House of the Polish Parliament)
Chancellery (Office) of the Polish Sejm provides administrative and legal support for the Lower Chamber of the Polish Parliament. Interns work at the European Information and Documentation Center and the Bureau of Research (English-language version) of the Chancellery of the Polish Sejm and learn the procedures and mechanisms of the Polish legislative chamber. This internship can be particularly valuable for young peope interested in politics and working at the Capitol one day. [Polish language required]

Chancellery of the President of the Republic of Poland

Chancellery of the President of the Republic of Poland is one of the most sought-after internship placements where interns learn about and directly participate in the operation of Poland's top executive office in its various political engagements.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Ministry of Foreign Affairs is responsible, among others, for maintaining relations with other states and international organizations representing and protecting the interest of Poland, Polish citizens and legal entities abroad and organizing the activities of Poland’s diplomatic missions and consulates.

The Polish Institute of International Affairs
Polish Institute of International Affairs (PISM)  is a leading Polish think-tank on international affairs. The program of multi-disciplinary and comparative research concerns all issues pertaining to contemporary Polish foreign policy, Poland's membership in the EU and NATO; Poland's bilateral relations, in particular with neighboring countries, and the image of Poland in the world. In addition, the research interest of the Institute covers institutions responsible for formation and implementaiton of foreign policy, work of decision makers and
research methodology in the area of international relations. The Institute prepares analytical studies, writes reports, develops political forecast and publishes specialized monographs.

Ministry of Labor and Social Policy

Ministry of Labor and Social Policy is responsible, among others, for coordination, development, and implementation of state policies in the field of labor, social dialogue and partnership, social insurance, assistance, health and safety at work, conduct of economic analyses and forecasts and implementation of technical assistance from the European Social Fund of the European Union.

Office of the Member of the European Parliament Rafal Trzaskowski

Rafal Trzaskowski was elected to the European Parliament in 2009 from the constituency of Warsaw. He is a member of the Civic Platform – currently the governing party in Poland, which belongs to the European People's Party (Christian Democrats). Trzaskowski works currently in the European Parliament on institutional matters, free market and consumer protection. He is the Vice-Chairman of the Committee on Constitutional Affairs, where he holds a political function as a vice-coordinator of the EPP group. He is also a substitute member in the Committee on the Internal Market and Consumer Protection.

The work of Central Statistical Office of Poland includes gathering, processing, analyzing and publishing statistical data on Polish society, economy and government. The Office publishes the Polish Statistical Yearbook. Interns are involved in gathering, processing and analyzing statistical data and assist the Office in collecting data on the Polish society, economy, and the government.

Center for Eastern Studies

Center for Eastern Studies is a Polish think tank that analyzes political, economic and social situation in Central and Eastern Europe, the Balkans, Southern Caucasus, Central Asia and Germany. The Center actively participates in discussions about the EU Eastern policy, energy security challenges, as well as political, social and economic transformations in the neighbouring countries. The Centre has a twofold objective of stimulating expert debates and providing information and analytic support for decision makers in Poland.

The Sobieski Institute
Sobieski Institute is a think tank that conducts multidisciplinary research with the aim of developing creative ideas for reforms and changes in Poland's public policies. It formulates political and economic strategies and serves as a forum for public debates involving academics, professionals, decision-makers, journalists and other experts. Sobieski Institute implements projects in various areas including defence and security policy, foreign policy, education, energy policy, public finance, technology, communication, law.

 

Office of the Human Rights Defender (National Ombudsman)

Human Rights Defender is the constitutional authority for legal control and human rights protection. The Human Rights Defender safeguards human and civic freedoms and rights specified in the Constitution and other legal acts. In order to fulfill this task the Defender investigates whether actions undertaken or abandoned by the entities, organizations or institutions obliged to observe and implement human and citizen rights and freedoms have not led to infringement of the law or the principles of social coexistence and justice, and undertakes appropriate measures. The Defender is appointed by the Sejm (Lower House of the Parliament) and approved by the Senate (Upper House of the Parliament) for a five-year term of office.

Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights
Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights founded by the members of the famous Helsinki Committee, is themost experienced NGO active in the field of human rights in Central and Eastern Europe. It runs educational, research and lobbying projects. Interns are introduced to a wide range of aspects related to human rights in the region, including lobbying practices to promote human rights, and organization of workshops, educational seminars and research activities with the aim of advancing human rights, accountability and good governance.

Amnesty International in Poland
Amnesty International is a worldwide organization which campaigns for internationally recognized human rights for all. The Polish chapter of AI is a small but very active entity that organizes Amnesty Int. global campaigns on regional and local levels, and promotes social awareness through exhibits, events, conference, happenings, concerts and other meetings scheduled all over Poland.

The Community of Democracies

Community of Democracies is a global intergovernmental coalition of democratic countries, with the goal of promoting democratic rules and strengthening democratic norms and institutions around the world. Community of Democracies was founded in 2000 during a Ministerial Conference in Warsaw. The conference was the idea and initiative of the then Polish Minister of Foreign Affairs, prof. Bronislaw Geremek and the former U.S. Secretary of State, dr. Madeleine Albright. Community of Democracies is an important global platform for exchange of experiences and consultations toward building and strengthening of democratic order inside the countries as well as in the international system.

Other Space Foundation

Other Space Foundation aims at opening a new space for social and artistic expression. The Foundation designs and implements innovative cultural, artistic and social programs to make a real change in Poland and in different parts of the world. Foundation seeks interns who want to promote multiculturalism, speak about human rights, support minority rights and will be interested in projects on human rights that, among others, involve fundraising activities and international outreach.

Polish Humanitarian Organization
The mission of Polish Humanitarian Organization (PHO) is the promotion of humanitarian values. PHO helps communities in crises regain responsibility for their own future and become self-reliant. At present the PHO staff is helping in Iraq, Afghanistan.

Jewish Historical Institute
Jewish Historical Institute is one of the finest Jewish historical institutions in the world and the main institute for research in history and culture of Polish Jewry and Jews in Central and Eastern Europe. It is the largest (over 70,000 volumes) depository of Jewish-related archival documents, books, journals and art objects, including invaluable documents of the Holocaust.


Museum of the History of Polish Jews
Museum of the History of Polish Jews is the place to discover history of Jewish people and their culture. The museum is a modern multimedia center of education and culture.

 

Gazeta Wyborcza
Gazeta Wyborcza (GW) is one of the most influential national daily newspaper in Poland. GW has over 5 million readers and sells about 450 thousand copies every day. Interns are involved in preparing news and learn the skills of good journalism.

Polish Radio

Polish Radio is a publicly-funded, national radio broadcasting organization. It cosists of four programs for news, culture, music, and education. In addition to its Polish language programs it also offers external broadcasts in Belarusian, English, German, Hebrew, Russian and Ukrainian. It has two internet-based channels: Radio Parliament and Polish Radio Esperanto and several regional radio stations.

Polityka
Polityka is one of the most established and known weekly political magazines in the country. Interns who are fluent only in English are placed in their international news department. Polityka offers internships where participants learn about the work of the editorial office, assist in gathering materials, look for and present interesting story ideas and write articles. Polityka's office is an excellent place to learn about the print media and develop research, writing and fact-finding skills. [Polish language preferred]

Warsaw Business Journal
Warsaw Business Journal is the major international business publication in Poland. Since 1994 it has published about all aspects of business, law, economics and politics in Poland.

Powszechny Theater
Powszechny Theater was established in 1944. Both theaters perform the world's most famous classic and contemporary playwrights of Zapolska, Dickens, Shakespeare, Moliere, Gorky, Beckett, Chekhov, etc.

Polish Red Cross

The main mission of the Polish Red Cross is to prevent and ease people's suffering and protect the lives and human dignity of victims of violence regardelss of race, nationality, gender, religious or political affiliations. Red Cross reaches out to help the weakest groups, from flood victims to homeless in the streets, orphans or elders. It combats racism, violence and offers care and compassion in the community.

Forum of Young Diplomats

Forum of Young Diplomats is led by graduate students of Diplomacy and International Relations. The Forum offers an academic and professional training for young diplomats and prospective candidates to the Polish foreign service. The Forum's key program is the Academy of Young Diplomats that brings together around 150 recent graduates every year and prepares them to take competitive entry exams to the Polish Foreign Service and international organizations. The Forum has two internship places available.

Foundation Our Planet

Our Planet was established in 1994 and its mission is environmental and ecological education. Our Planet coordinates the Clean up the World campaign in Poland and together with local municipalities, schools, businesses and media organizes a number of programs to enhance environmental awareness and protection.
